Arithmetic dictates that Mindbender is obviously stronger. However, the difference gained may not be worth losing the HPS gain from From Darkness, Comes Light. To boot, From Darkness, Comes Light can potentially save more mana than Mindbender gains altogether. I am very confident your best mana management option is to couple the use of shadowfiend and From Darkness, Comes Light over Mindbender alone.

I disagree. There aren't really enough encounters in which you will be using the spells that proc FDCL enough to make it pull ahead of mindbender. If you're spamming single target heals, sure, FDCL is probably OP as all get out, but from what I have seen, even on the fights where that is required, you're doing a fair bit of raid healing as well. It's also hard to quantify mana savings vs a mana return. They just don't function the same way. Although, I may just be biased cause I hate FDCL. I think it's a crap talent, but to each their own.

You can always chalk it up to different play styles I suppose. In the current 10 man meta that a lot of people (including myself) are finding themselves in, you do a fair amount of spot healing. Especially Flash Heal and Binding Heal. The quantifying part, it all translates to the same thing. Mana saved is mana made. I've never liked talents like this but just looking at the small ~difference~~ between Shadowfiend and Mind Bender.. that's what you're comparing it to, not Mind Bender.

I've been using Mindbender and I find that I sometimes don't want to or can't use it the very moment it's available

I don't know if you guys have noticed, but apparently a free FH from FDCL can apparently proc another free FH. Was playing around with it the other day, and got like 4 in a row in one instance.

Tier 5 - Divine Insight unless you need PI for throughput
Tier 6 - Probably will use Divine Star and Casade, maybe Halo for 10 man H Zon'ozz

I think DI sucks for Disc, for a couple reasons. A) Power Word Shields don't stack (or roll) in my experience. and B) Power Word Shield is a pretty expensive heal when used more then once every 12 seconds.

I'd much rather have the holy version.

on Tier 6; Divine Star is something like 5% more healing over PoH. That's something, but Cascade fills a weakness in our spec that we can't get anywhere else. It seems to me if you DON'T take Cascade, you are (generally) doing it wrong

PI and disc and think would be more for shield spamming with Shell.

Yeah PI is the best. I misread the talent before and thought that DI did the same for both Holy and Disc.
