See, I feel exactly the same way with my rotation. With the rotation I posted above I can spam my MB keybind while MF is channeling and not have to worry about your 'holding off for 3 orbs' before casting MB. I know it will be a guaranteed 3 orb MB. For me, that strategy feels more aggressive and I have one less thing to watch for. Apparently for you it works the other way around.

I am by no means a ranked priest, but I feel my rotation increases my personal dps because it is more suited to my play style. Mostly because there are less things to micromanage.

I am also by no means a currently ranked priest, but I have been using my own version of Kilee's #3 opener, and found it works well with my play style:

Pre-pot, pre-cast Mind Spike, MF2 x2, MS x2, SF + AA + cancelaura, MB, MS x3, MF2 x2, MB, MS x3, VT, SWP, MB, DP etc.

Pre-pot, pre-cast Mind Spike, MF2 x2,
MS x2, => second MS is without orbs and only improve the chance of the MB by 5-10%
SF + AA + cancelaura,=> better to use AA in a macro with the MS before - enough time that the last MB ist affected
MB,
MS x3, MF2 x2, =>use orbs makes more damage than two missing stacks
MB, MS x3, VT, SWP, MB, DP

I prefere:
Fade, Pre-pot, pre-cast Mind Spike, MF2 x2, AA & MS, SF, cancelaura & Bottle & MB, MS x4, MF2, MB, MS x3, Berserking & VT, SWP, MB, DP
