How to perform better on Deathwing hc ?

Apparently, holy nova gives a higher proc rate for spellweave than mind sear on the bloods, with the glyph. I tested it out, its very nice but mana draining.

How does that work? Does spellweave not proc on every mind sear tick?

It's something I read when I was looking in to the strats for the boss, i'll link it for you.

Take full advantage of spellweaving by dotting pain on all bloods and then spamming holy nova (holy nova spam with the glyph will proc spellweaving more than mind sear) if you have the mana for it (mind sear otherwise).

I'd be interested in logs showing this. Maybe it procs more spellweave, but you'd have to run to the bloods and then waste a gcd to put back shadowform.

On our tries at the moment i'm just mind searing and then when we get to phase 2 / head phase, i'm opting to holy nova them down if i'm in a good enough position... but i mean the platform is pretty small, so running to the spawn point for holy nova isn't much of an issue.

Otherwise, there's no contest between Mind Sear and Holy Nova.

I'm assuming its because of the 0.5 sec reduction with the glyph

Well, yeah... but in most cases with other effects, that just reduces you to the 1.0 second GCD, in which case Mind Sear will do more since it ticks more than once a second.

I tried it and it seems to be proccing more Spellweave than Mind Sear but my overall damage didn't go up so I stopped using it.

Mind sear itself does almost 50% of your blood damage, and mine ticks every .6 seconds. So even a .5 gcd holy nova will almost certainly do less damage.

Plus you have to waste a GCD on aaplying shadow form back. Seems like shit to me (I did not test and might be wrong).

However, at ~6% I do my hymn and might try it since my shadow form is not applyed anyway.
