Wth...really? Thats like 100yrds...

Anyway, can someone explain how Divine Star is better than Halo for Feng? In phase 1 and majority of phase 2 our raid is stacked up (10man) at a range from the boss and DS dmg is pretty shit. So I don't see how it can be a better choice than Halo for Feng.

On normal mode?

Divine Star is pretty competitive on a single target fight (imo the best). I did 780k with it on Feng normal mode, more than I could have with Halo, and probably more still due to not having to muddle around getting into Halo range.

Not even sure that casting Halo on cooldown at optimal range would beat Divine Star single target (normal mode of course, most the top Feng parses are heroic).

I was curious about this and did some calculations, and it turns out that Divine Star does indeed do more single-target DPS if you're within 21.7 yards of your target (except that doesn't take GCD usage into account, so really a tiny bit closer still).
Come on, die young.

You'll be hugging Feng's nuts for 75% of heroic. In addition to the damage I did 7.5 million healing.

I've really been enjoying Cascade since the buff. I've been using it on Elegon for phase 2 and Gara'jal spirit realm, but I also started using it on Will of the Emperor (25-man, so more adds) which I don't see much. I was pretty shocked when I saw 10.2M damage done using Cascade on Will tonight! When there are tons of adds out, it can really pack a punch.

Everybody else I see parsing on this fight is using Halo, and I don't really see why people haven't switched to Cascade yet. 13th world rank, and my Cascade did more than anybody else's Halo. I highly recommend it over Halo.

Oh man, this is really confusing for me.

I can understand, that Cascade is way better in some fights, than Halo. But i don't see Divine Star here, if you'r using Halo and Cascade in the right way.

Question to Gara: I'm using Halo here, running out and in the Group with PW:S. The last time i've used Cascade, I felt like it doesn't made any DMG to those mobs in the other phase.

Far as I can tell, Cascade is quite a bit stronger on many fights. Halo, while theoretically more powerful, is a very limiting spell, and you often can't get the dps it promises during a fight, due to the movement and strategy required.

My own guild generally has a very specific position they want me to stand in, or you have fights where stuff keeps geting laid on the ground, forcing you to constantly move. This is very counter-intuitive to the way Halo works. It's quickly becoming a spell that I "loathe" to use.

None of the 90 talents are any good single target if you're sitting right on the boss. Divine Star does less damage than Mind Flay against one target, and Cascade & Halo are even worse.

Against Gara'jal, if you're stuck on the boss, you can still cast Cascade on a spirit totem that's up, and it will bounce back to the boss doing decent damage.

If you are not the person taking care of Maddening Shout on Spirit Kings, should you still use Halo, or should you use Cascade or *gasp* Divine Star?

Cascade's not going to be great unless you can get some good bounces going between the Undying Shadows and the current boss(es). Divine Star will be good ONLY for the healing it brings. Halo could be good if you manage to spend a decent amount of time not clumped up on the boss.
