Symbiosis tranquility is broken?

Symbiosis tranquility does not appear to benefit from haste. At 25% haste (> 8085), it is still only 4 ticks. These ticks are also only ~6k apiece, so you'll get ~250-300k healing from a full channel.


This makes symbiosis tranq as bad or worse than renew spam, especially with the renew glyph if you're above the glyphed extra tick haste breakpoint (and you can move while spamming renew).

Pretty sad pseudo-replacement for divine hymn, and no +10% healing buff. :(

Pretty sure Divine Hymn and Hymn of Hope no longer gain extra ticks. I would assume this translates over to Tranqu as well.

If that's true, then the ability is essentially worthless, and will get worse as each new renew haste breakpoint is reached. It's pretty much not worth casting at all once you hit 4254 haste for glyphed renew, and 12612 haste for unglyphed renew.

It's questionable for the 3039 unglyphed renew breakpoint, due to the movement advantage of renew, as well as the ability to do the healing incrementally without potentially delaying plague/mind blast/FDCL procs (or in the case of healing, to avoid delaying PoM or your level 90 talent spell).

I'll double check on the hymn ticks when I'm able to respec holy after my raid.

Edit: Hymn of Hope definitely does not gain extra ticks from haste. I haven't respec'd holy to double check DH yet, but I assume it's the same.

Perhaps it's not technically a bug that symbiosis tranq does not receive extra ticks from haste, but it's certainly true that it's awful and pretty much useless.

No. Tranq does gain extra ticks from haste. Your first +1 gain is about ~12.50% , so your +2 would be on ~37.5%. And yes I have casted Tranq during a heroism to test it and it does have extra ticks.

tranquility is still pretty much a nearly useless symbiosis at this point. better off just giving the tank another cd. it doesn't do a lot of healing.

The only real time I use it is on Heroic Spirit Kings, when Meng's? insanity is too high to dps safely.

I do agree that for that 250-350k healing, it's not worth the channel time.

I try not using it as much as possible.

You're basically better off casting Flash Heal than using Symb Tranq. The base healing and coefficient are like 25% of normal Tranq.

out of curiosity:

in a 25man setting, where the healing lead wants me to help as much as possible during a high damage phase, would something else be better to use then?

I am thinking of Force and Verve for example. Would a healing Cascade, followed by Vampiric Embrace do more healing than the Tranq? Or would PoM followed by Flash Heal spam indeed be better than the Tranq in the same amount of time?

I haven't looked at the number myself yet, but basically I have just cast the Tranq when my healing lead requests it. Maybe I should change that for better HPS?

I definitely would not even bother casting Tranq. Throwing out a PoM + using Cascade (or Halo, though with the longer CD it might not be as worth it) on allies for healing is actually really strong.

I did 27k HPS tonight on our 10man Garalon kill tonight by using PoM on CD and using Cascade for healing whenever there were no legs up or when there was a leg up but I wasn't standing in it's circle.

Granted, I definitely used a lot of GCDs for healing that could have been used for DPS, but since we had healers kiting I figured it was worth it to help.
