[H2P] How to use the Tier 13 4-piece set bonus.

On page 1 Kilee wrote that the 4 set bonus and Shadowspike rotation would be a "1000-2000 dps increase", although very dependent on the fights ofc. Some fights with burn phases its an obvious win-win.
Do you still feel thats true? 1-2k on Ultra for example?

I am asking, because i dont have the 397 chest and legs, and would have to use 384 chest and legs to have the 4 set bonus (very unlucky on token drops). Otherwise i would be using Lavaquake Legwraps 397 and Robe of Glowing Stone 397. I am using the Moonwell Chalice for the burst rotation atm.

I learned the rotation 2 and tested it in 25man LFR, and i saw a huge increase on Ultra and Madness, however i raid 10man with my team, and im unsure whether its the more buffs in 25man that raised my dps, than the burst rotation, compared that i have to gimp myself.

I have tested a lot on the dummy and i seem to dip lower with the gimp 384 set over time.

In my experience using the 4pc rotation outweighs normal rotation on Ultraxion greatly. I was in an equivalent situation like you since I had to drop some 397 for 384 t13 when I changed my gear. It pushed my dps by 1-2k. However, the increase you can perform on a training dummy will directly (in my opinion) reflect in your increase in a raid situation. This means, if you don't see 1k+ increase on a dummy there is something wrong with your execution.

On a side note, I don't know if you usually have DI or not, but your haste rating is off. Try to reach 2589 (reenchant boots and gloves for pure haste).

I agree with Luminee. You should wear the 4-set bonus, even if it means using 384 items rather than 397 offset items.

1-2k dps increase is very typical.

2589 haste is a good goal for non-DI, and should be considered a minimum amount of haste to maintain imo, althouhg I agree with others who have said stacking haste paste it is probably the way to go. You MIGHT get more dps on Ultraxion by stacking mastery past 2589, but as others have pointed out, your DPS might suffer on other fights, for a net dps loss overall.

Rotation #2

This rotation is a bit harder to pull off than the above, but it has a few good benefits. It gets 3 Mind Blasts with 3 orbs off, and it seems to give more consistent dps. I also think this rotation works a little better with Dark Intent (ie it is the most friendly to warlocks). Note that this rotation does NOT use a macro for Mind Blast.

Mind Flay x 2, clip both after 2 ticks
Archangel
Mind Blast
Shadowfiend
(pop spellpower trinket here)
Mind Spike x 3
Mind Flay (clip as soon as Mind Blast is available)
Mind Blast (instant cast)
Mind Spike x 3
Mind Flay (clip as soon as Mind Blast is available)
Mind Blast (instant cast)
(archangel, spellpower trinket, and Shadowfiend ends here, you still have 3 orbs remaining)

Resume dots and consume the remaining 3 orbs on your next Mind Blast.

In other words: If you can fit in 4 Mind Spikes after the instant MB and still can Flay before MB comes off cooldown, would this be the way to go? Or would the limit on SF swings mean it is better to just flay for a little longer to make absolutely sure each MB has 3 orbs?

Yes if you can fit that in you should. I've been playing around with it, but my current haste level just isn't quite enough.

Since I've got 3202 haste at the moment (BW) I usually use 4 Mind Spikes and MF2 before MB. On the dummy the swing timer of SF is too fast for the second MS, but with the usual lags of a raiding environment it syncs in nicely. However, often MB is off CD 0,1-0,3s too soon, I wait for the 3 orbs but clip MF late after the 2nd tick. It's not ideal, but it definately makes more dps than with 2589 (in my opinion).

I know you shouldn't use the bonus during blood lust, but what about when a haste trinket procs?

I ask because my IotCM almost always procs in the beginning of a fight which is the time I would normally do the bonus rotation for the first time. Do you think it is beneficial to wait until just after the trinket falls off to start the rotation? Or should I just proceed with the rotation as normal?

Hey guys, was wondering. I got 32% of haste but in kilee's guide,He said that is ideal to have 30% haste. So, should i reforge to mastery?
