[H2P] How to use the Tier 13 4-piece set bonus.

Taradenha I would like to test something in simulationcraft. Is there a way to dictate when an on-use trinket is used? I would like to cause the simulation to use Bottled Wishes only when AA is hit, and then see the effects. Is there a way to do that?

Mind if i ask which trinket your replacing with the Bottle of wishes m8?

I have the 397 Cunning and the 390 Will trinkets, i guess your using sumthing similar.

I just spent my valors buying one of healers sum offspec gear, and im eager to try the Bottle now with this burst dmg =) doh!

Well.

I'm actually just trying to prove what I already know.

I purchased Bottled Wishes last night, went to a dummy and spent about an hour with it, flipping it in and out with my other trinkets. I was getting 500+ dps using it compared to my other trinkets.

I just want to show it in simcraft.

The problem is if you import this trinket in simcraft, it pops it as soon as it comes up. I want it to wait and use it only when it uses shadowfiend.

I'd actually like to test a few trinkets out that are on use, but I don't know if simcraft allows it.

As it stands, I'm planning to take it to our Ultraxion attempt next week and try it out there, but I'd like two points of data to see it, if possible.

The trinket I would replace is Cunning of the Cruel (384). Certainly, this trinket is better for any fight with adds. But there's a lot of fights in DS that have no adds.

It's just something I want to play with. I spoke with black about it some last night, and his theory is that there may be some scaling that happens in 25-man versus dummy that will make the numbers come out differently. However in my experience whatever I see on a dummy is amplified in raid, not lessened.

Anyway, I'll keep messing around with it. It looks promising so far though.

Yeah sounds like a plan, theres lots of points in fights where ya dont want your trinkets proccing, and certain points where ya could really do with it to burst down sumthing fast, and ive always thought it might be worth swoapping in a use trinket for these fights, but all the best trinkets seem to be on proc nowadays so not really had chance to try it.

The main reason I like using the instant MB is it gives you more play room within the actual rotation. Using an instant MB means the gcd for the cast becomes included in the cooldown.

In other words, MB without mind melt, can only do damage every 6.5 sec + 1 GCD for the cast time.
However, as long as you at least get 2 Mind Spikes before every MB, you can do damage with MB every 6.5 secs, effectively giving 3 more gcds to fit 3 MBs inside the duration of SF.

Are you referring the rotation 2 in the OP Black?

I have yet to get a chance to try this out on a dummy, but I like the idea of having the instant MB up and the extra time to account for latency

I think this line should work

actions+=/use_item,name=bottled_wishes,if=buff.dark_archangel.up

The main reason I like using the instant MB is it gives you more play room within the actual rotation. Using an instant MB means the gcd for the cast becomes included in the cooldown.

The point is you don't need to fit 3 MBs in 15s, you have 1 min to use the last set of orbs provided you don't waste them casting MS.

Well in my rotation, every MB is also buffed by 20% as they all occur within the DA timeframe. In the rotation #2 that Kilee has there, I might recommend shifting DA to be used at the first MS, rather than as soon as it is.

However, in a fight like Hagara, my rotation would need to drop the initial spikes to avoid losing the huge dps loss from wasting nearly half the debuff.

Also, I'm sure that shadowfiend does not hit consistantly every 1.5 seconds. It does benefit from our haste, though I believe its only a percentage of it. One thing about it though, is the timing can be thrown off if the shadowfiend has any travel time to the target, as sometimes our fiend has a brain fart and forgets to use its cooldown immediately. (You can compensate for this by adding a pet command for it in a macro)

You keep it infront of the first MB for the same reason you just mentioned. It ends just after the 3rd MB, so there's no reason not to use it where it's used. Also, while the first MB may not have 3 orbs, later in the fight, it will probably have 1-3. This rotation is not just meant as an opener. It's meant for every time it becomes available.

However, in a fight like Hagara, my rotation would need to drop the initial spikes to avoid losing the huge dps loss from wasting nearly half the debuff.

Hm... well I'm not using AA on hagara. Instead I'm just doing the "rotation #1", minus the AA/MB at the start. (Well, that is normal mode Hagara, anyway.)

So if I'm reading correctly, your rotation looks something like this Black

MFx2
MSx2
SF
DA then instant MB
MSx3
MF clipped when MB up, MB
MSx4
MF clipped when MB up, MB

I still need to play around with these anyway. Also which macro do you use for the SF command?
