When to refresh SWP and VT?

Ok, so I know having either fall off is bad, but when exactly is the right time to refresh them? I have TMW setup to show me when there's 5 seconds left (so I know not to get into another cast/GCD) and usually end up refreshing them anywhere between .5-3 seconds left.

Is that "optimal"? I did download MF clip and it has the dark blue countdown bar and then a much brighter blue which I'm guessing is the "optimal" time to refresh them?

Also, I have TMW setup to show me the icon when the target is missing either dots, is there anyway (within TMW) to have it show the icons when I gain SP/Haste/Int as well (within the same icon/group) or is that better off left to tracking those buff procs seperately?

As far as I know, it doesn't make a difference when you refresh it as long as it's before the last tick and after the second to last tick. As long as you're in that zone, you're good.

You want to basically delay recasting as long as you can (without the dots falling off) but you don't want to delay casting MB, DP, or SW:D to refresh.
