Site Donations -- Help Keep H2P Online!

As many of you know, Susan (Veiled) started How To Priest in February 2011 as an effort to create a community for Priests to gather in, share thoughts, ask for help, and socialize. As anyone who has experience with web hosting will tell you, decent hosting for a site with the traffic volume of HowToPriest is not inexpensive if you want good uptime and support. Susan has been paying for the site and its maintenance out of pocket since day one, trying her best to keep the site clean and unobtrusive, totaling costs incurred to over $2,500 USD in hosting, bandwidth, and maintenance/feature additions in a little over a year.

A few months ago, in an effort to keep the site online and not break her bank, Susan introduced ads at the bottom and side of pages hoping to offset some incurred costs. To be blunt, the amount of funds raised through these ads have been less than ideal. There are some serious concerns as to whether or not Susan can continue to solely subsidize HowToPriest's operation and maintenance costs out of pocket any longer, which would result in the closure of the site.

In the past there have been discrete 'Donate' buttons at the bottom of pages. These have been replaced by the 'Chipin' box floating on the left side of pages. We are asking that if you have found H2P helpful and believe it is a worthwhile community to maintain, that you please consider a small donation towards maintenance and operation costs of the site. Chipin operates through Paypal and accepts credit cards, no Paypal account required.

As many of you know, H2P recently had such a huge increase in traffic, that we exceeded our bandwidth! It's been a blessing to have so many new people on the site and we welcome you all. :) We did have to up our bandwidth. As the months pass, we will have to continue to make upgrades to the site to keep it in working order. The older we become, the more expensive the site will be to maintain.

I know most people hate it, but I've added the "chip in" widget back at the top left of the page. I did try to downsize to a smaller button, but we seemed to have better luck with the large, more annoying one over there lol.
