Hi everyone! Been lurking for a while now, but finally couldn't resist sharing why I play priest.
First, curiosity. I have a lvl 90 feral druid, 85 mage, 60 hunter.. (have deleted dozens of Alts in various classes, races..) still consider my feral druid my pve main (for now..). Over time I've tried all the various classes to see how they feel.
I saved priest for last.. more because I'm fairly new to WoW (playing a little over a year) and wasn't comfortable with the healing role. Not knowing dungeons as well as I do today, after doing 100s..
First I went Disc.. last Spring I started with BGs (first time doing them and pvp). Read that was the best way to get started (less stress).. then started doing low level dungeons.
Then I started thinking last spring I might want to really give pvp more of a try.. was sort of fun and would give me something to do while I wait for Mists of Pandaria.
But I figured I'd do better on a class I was more familiar with being new to pvp.
I started with my mage.. meh, ok, but I felt weak, not so fun and I wasn't comfortable overall. Feral.. how could I not do well with feral? It's my main! ...but being new to pvp I don't think a melee class was working for me or something. Wasn't feeling comfortable, wasn't getting the job done for me..
I went back to Disc and healing in BGs.. Played that for a while.
I never thought about the dps side of priest, but after reading some positive things about them decided I'd slip into that Spriest role and see how things went in BGs..
Loved it! Fit like a glove.. I just felt I could do decent damage, some healing.. and survive! Great versatility and fun.
..since I started playing shadow I can't think about playing anything else in BGs/pvp right now. I've taken a spriest to lvl 84 and I'm playing daily. Can't wait to try the cata and mists BGs.
I have this feeling my Spriest is turning into my main. ;)
tl;dr ..i don't know. Of all the classes I've played (especially in pvp), it's the most comfortable, versatile (dps/heals), interesting.. challenging, but a ton of fun!
(sorry so long for my first post.. not usually so wordy lol)
Thanks for a great forum! Looking forward to learning more from you all. :)
