Haste Value Thresholds (math needed)

Haste Value Thresholds (math needed)

Postby Star » June 16th, 2011, 12:43 pm

Hey I'm not a mathy person nor do I know the ins and outs of the math of this game.

In simple, what is the haste rating and/or percent needed to turn a 2.5 sec cast into 2.2, 2.1 and 2.0.

Also what effect does each of those 3 values have on a 1.5 sec cast aka GCD

Thank you!

The formla is:

Cast Time = Base Cast Time / (1 + Haste%/100)

To flip this around in order to find Haste%, you get:

Haste% = (Base Cast TIme/Cast Time - 1)*100

.....

I'll finish this up later, but you can use the above formulas to get what you're needing.

So Base Cast Time would be 2.5 and Cast Time would be the value I want IE 2.2, 2.1, 2.0?

Sorry I had to go away from my computer for a bit. Yeah that's it.

So if you want 2.2 you say:

2.2 = 2.5/(1+haste%/100)

or

(2.2)
haste % = (2.5/2.2-1)*100 = 13.64%

(2.1)
haste % = (2.5/2.1-1)*100 = 19.05%

(2.0)
haste & = (2.5/2.0-1)*100 = 25%

To see how this affects your GCD, you use 1.5 as your base.

GCD = 1.5/(1+13.64/100) = 1.32 sec
GCD = 1.5/(1+19.05/100) = 1.26 sec
GCD = 1.5/(1+25/100) = 1.2 sec

And to continue...

How much haste do you get in a fully buffed raid environment? With all of the classes that give haste.. sorry I don't really pay attention to these things lol

Or maybe a better question would now be...

How much haste rating in a 25m raiding environment do you need to reach those thresholds? I know you only need 520 to reach 12.5% but I also know that some haste buffs are multiplicative and some are not.

Hm.. I think it works like this... if we assume 3% from Veiled Shadows and 5% from Shadow Priest.

Cast Time = Base Cast / ((1 + haste%/100)*1.03*1.05)

Flip this around

Haste % = (Base Cast/ (Cast Time * 1.03 * 1.05) - 1)*100

So if we take our original values from the post above.... (128 haste rating = 1% haste)

(2.2)
Haste % = ((2.5 / (2.2*1.03*1.05) - 1)*100 = 5.07% = 649 haste rating

(2.1)
Haste % = ((2.5 / (2.1*1.03*1.05) - 1)*100 = 10.08% = 1290 haste rating

(2.0)
Haste % = ((2.5 / (2.0*1.03*1.05) - 1)*100 = 15.58% = 1994 haste rating

Looking at most of the healing priests in my guild, they look like they are somewhere in the middle of this (around 1290 haste rating). But 1994 should be obtainable.

Uhh... not to necro this but I was curious if this is indeed correct. I up my Haste rating to achieve a cast time of 2.0 sec on Prayer of Healing for H Ultraxion. I remember sitting at the reforger staring at my gear thinking that I'll never get to 1994 Haste, so I went in with 1700something Haste rating.

Turns out I did hit 2.0 seconds. There isn't a Haste buff that I am aware of on Ultraxion right? Is 1994 correct with 3/3 Darkness and 5% Haste or is there something I'm missing?

I just checked and with BT my PoH was 1.8 seconds along with 2.0 sec without it. I'd like to make sure I'm going in with the correct minimum value of Haste to get to 2.0 seconds so I can maximize on other stats. ^.^

Thanks.

Ashley, did you have Dark Intent, or do people in your raid have Ti'tahk (grants haste bonus to 3 nearby people)? Perhaps see if you have the same result in LFR, or on other fights on heroic?
