Because I thought Human female priest at lvl 25 with Corsair's Overshirt and Emberstone Staff from DM, and those cyan silken pants looked so fucking awesome while channeling the old Mind Flay animation. Had been raiding casually on my hunter before this, just doing the random Kara and Gruul pugs, but when I got my Priest to 70 right after the release of 2.4, I never looked back. Still enjoy playing the Hunter though, cus it's so easy to play compared to Shadow.

The Shadow Priest buff/nerf cycle: Being underpowered for 8 months in Ulduar and ToC, no problem. Being overpowered for 2 days --> hotfix nerfed.

When I started playing WoW, me and a small group of friends had just finished our feeble attempt at playing table-top DnD, and I was going to be our Cleric healer for the party. I say going to be, because we barely got past level 1, that's how little we ended up actually playing. But I liked the idea of playing the healer, so I decided, since I couldn't do it in DnD, I'd do it in WoW! Little did I know at the time that leveling up as a healer would be about 2X as long as if I did it with a DPS spec. So, I leveled 1-80 as holy, running instances as much as I could. This was, of course, in the days before RDF, so the groups were usually just whoever was in the /1 of my leveling zone, who were also looking for parties for dungeons.

My priest was my first toon, my IRL friend said his guild needed healers so I started playing wow to help him out. I asked what kind of healing classes were available and chose priest because I wanted to be a caster class with the ability to heal and I wanted to be a draenei. Sure I could have chose shaman but in other mmos I've played, shamen were a lot different so I based my initial opinion around that.

So after a month and a half, I got my priest to 80, and started raiding. My first 80 raid was os10, second was naxx10, I was holy/shadow. 3 guilds later I was asked to go shadow and have been shadow ever since. I gave up holy because of bad attempts on iron council where I had to dispel the MT and heal him at almost the same time. I wasn't very seasoned so we wiped about 10 times then called it all because of me. :( Meh. I like being a facemelter. :D

I had tried WoW a few times in the past, but it never really stuck. I had managed to get a couple hunters to level 10, a paladin to 30 and a warlock to 30, but I always quit after a month or so. I had friends playing, though, and they needed a 10th for the guild, so I started raiding with them as a Paladin on one of their extra accounts. I've always enjoyed healing in other MMOs, so this just made sense. It also happened that they didn't have a priest in the guild at all, so after a while of raiding on the Paladin, I started up my own account again and leveled an Undead Priest. I've since race changed to Goblin, and am loving the priest even more.

When TBC was released I had to try draenei and the only class that seemed fun to try was Priest. But after the first raid healed after leveling I knew I could never play any other class and 4 years later I never rerolled and have no intention to ^^

I have no idea why I wanted a priest... I played a Rogue main forever and somehow I decided I wanted a priest O.o

Now it's my favorite at the moment :)

Back in BC when I first started playing I was a troll mage. I leveled up, learned to sheep things and set them on fire, and merrily burned my way through Kara and ZA in a casual 10-man guild.

Towards the end of BC I was getting a bit bored though and started poking around at the various starting zones and classes that I hadn't tried. Priest was actually the fifth or sixth class that I tried but the only one that stuck and made it to 70.

Fast forward into Wrath and I'm still a mage. My casual guild doesn't survive the new expansion though, so I app to a friend's raid guild at the start of Ulduar. Much to their surprise I also have this priest alt that I have painfully geared up to mostly BiS Naxx 25 gear in pugs. They are short a healer, so the priest alt gets the invites that the mage can't.

The rest is history... now my mage is a barely touched alt and my priest is my much-loved main. I love the extra challenge and unpredictability of healing and would never go back.
