Will we shine in dungeons scenarios

Postby Marathal » August 15th, 2012, 7:47 am

Seeing that we can now do some healing while still in Shadow, and we do have a VE to cast for added healing. Will we be better than most in the scenarios.

Now I know they are saying that its not something that can be tanked and spanked. They are bosses with a crapton of health, and it is all about avoiding the damage. I was just wondering if we as a spec, might do fairly well at them.

Tbh, I think we'll also have to keep in mind blizz's recent idea of 'challenging'. In concept, they almost sound like raid training (ei don't stand in the fire). I have a feeling like most things, they'll be 'challenging' when you're still wearing quest blues at 90, then as soon as you've geared up from heroic dungeons/LFR scenarios you'll be able to clear them like any 5 person quest mob.

Right now, I still feel the word 'challenging' as Blizzard uses it refers to the skill level of people who've played Farmville for the past 3 years as their main pastime.

Then again, with the introduction of Pandarens, I believe the sales goal is to attract a lower age group as well, since most of the Vanilla/BC crowd are in their mid 20s/early 30s now.

So... overall, I'd figure almost anyone would do well, but DPS in general should perform well, as the whole point of scenarios is to provide content for the ridiculous numbers of DPS in instance queues.

My guess is if you know how to play a shadowpriest... by the time you're half geared in LFR you'll be able to solo/2 man any scenario though.

Really not sure why it's suddenly marking to children when you introduce panda people. We're not talking about three year olds.

Did not realize that series was still going. They had like 12 when I was age appropriate, if that.

I'm not talking about 5 year olds, I'm probably thinking more along the lines of pre-teen/teen age.

I would be less concerned with scenarios than I would be for challenges. You are facing off against the clock in challenges where our slow ramp up time will severely hurt us.

Ramp up time?

If anything this has been the best expansion for no ramp up time. The only time it's been better is at the beginning of Wrath when DKs could Pestilence DP everywhere for AoE. We also do a lot more damage on the move, have some effective CC, and can Kite at a level we never dreamed of.

All in all thing are looking good in this regard.

Oh man...I remember that...that was amazing. Haha.

I still wish they'd give mind sear the ability to spread SWP.
