How can I improve...

Hey all, so recently I've started raiding after couple years off, but for past month seen a huge increase in my dps/dmg, thanks to a bit of gear and gameplay work. However I'm struggling to keep up with the other shadow priest and I've no clue why at this point.

We currently raid 2 groups, I being in 1 group, and other SP in other group. His ilev is currently 489, he currently has 155k on Elegon and many ranks on world of logs, and my ilev being 483 I hit 123k.

You are using a spirit meta instead of the int, you can pick up the spirit by reforging your legs and belt into spirit instead of crit. You have a 462 staff, why not the inscription OH with a heroic MH? Also you are close enough to go after 8085 haste which you can hit by my quick math by using straight haste gems in all of your yellow sockets and one in the belt buckle, while you will obviously lose a decent chunk of int it won't be enough to turn it into a dps loss provided you are making good use of the additional GCDs you will gain.

In your elegon logs the time allots for 66 MB casts, while you only have 44 casts, obviously there are times where you have to hold it for a few seconds in the transitions you should be able to get several more Mind blasts in there.

Looking at the graph it seems like in the transitions your dps is falling off to next to nothing, are you getting dps on the cosmic sparks? You can either just dot them up or pick one and nuke it down and void tendril it in place if you need too.

You only used one potion during the encounter, which shows you did not pre pot, that is a big nono, you have all your cds popped during that time.

Also your dot uptimes could be higher, ensure that when you are dpsing the energy sparks that your dots will last until you can switch back to elegon.

Thanks for the reply... I've already tried reforging/gemming various ways including getting the 8085 haste, and tbh I hardly noticed a thing. I switched to how I am now and seemed to work better , could be in my head but meh lol....

As for that fight, yep I forgot the bloody Pot at start, and I made couple mistakes after watching my vid...

Am I missing something as to where you saw I could of got off 66 MB's? Also during transitions, we are specifically told (our strat) to not touch the adds until gathered at the bottom, hence why graphs shows I stood around tapping my foot.

But from what you have said just seems I need to keep more uptime on DoTs mainly and ofc MB's.


Edit : Reason I have the staff is purely for transmog,holding out for scholo staff ;) Will take what you mentioned on board and give it a shot though. Thanks
