Heroic imperial Vizier Zor'lok question

Hello,
I play Discipline on this fight and I'm assigned to the Convert platform with 15 others from the raid. I was asked to refrain from using Spirit Shell during this phase as apparently MC wasn't getting broken fast enough.

My argument is that some people in the raid were being burst down by the Converts, and I'm not 100% convinced that my Spirit Shell was that big of a problem for the Convert breakers.

Maybe I should have had the sense not to use it, but is it the norm "not" to use Spirit Shell on this part of the fight?

I used it but I waited til the entire raid was at the platform so SS got the most benefit and there were more people to break it. I feel like it shouldn't make or break convert platform either way. Meaning people shouldn't die without SS but dps should be able to break through too. Be sure people are popping deadly cds and ccs before convert and no ones using dots to break convert.
