Ten man Disco Ball

Ten man Disco Ball

Postby Priestescow » March 30th, 2011, 3:44 pm

So I've been running a ToT/SoS spec lately and have been thinking about going back to AA/A. However, my 10 man group only has one melee dps.

Group Comp: Bear, Prot War, Rogue, Boom, Surv, Fire, Destro, Holy Pala, Holy and Disc Priests.

Now, with the exception of a few fights...Atonement would be "worthless" to me, wouldn't it?

So, I guess my main question is...anyone else running with the same heal comp that I'm running? How do you fare as whatever spec you are. Innervate is generally used on the paladin.

I havn't been raiding with a guild in a while, but I ran a BoT10 PuG a few hours ago as Discipline, and decided to try AA/A out since I usually go ToT/SoS. The group had no melee DPS, though we were also running Holy Paladin, Holy Priest, Disc priest. I think I am liking Archangel.

In my opinion, both should be fine, it will just come down to your play style, like most everything does.

edit: The group comp was: Prot Warrior, Prot Warrior, Survival Hunter, Marksman Hunter, Fire Mage, Shadow priest, Destruction Warlock, Holy Paladin, Holy Priest, Discipline Priest.

We had a few wipes on trash because the hunter couldn't control his pet. Halfus, Double Dragons, and Ascendant Council were 1 shot. Cho'gall's best attempt was 50%. I don't think the group really understood the fight, and our ability to interrupt Worships has limited. Our mage had some lagg too.

I think the PuG would have went fine if there weren't a few issues with Cho'gall. A few talent points to differ playstyle slightly won't make a noticeable difference in normal modes.

I was using smite a lot on Halfus and Double Dragons, Ascendant Council I used it during Phase1. The increased healing during Aegis of Flame wasn't bad. In Phase2, I was weaving it when I had the chance, but the phase didn't have a lot of healing.

Cho'gall, I got it for the increased healing during spike raid damage, again.

I've even healed with a PvP disc spec without having a lot of issues. That spec doesn't use SoS or AA/A.

I don't normally run logs when PuGing, but I decided to for this PuG for some reason, lucky for you.

I didn't log Halfus, though.

edit: I went shadow for a few attempts on Cho'gall.

Alright, so we've been wiping to Cho'gall the past two weeks, finally started logging...and tbqh, I think it's just a gear problem. For the most part our people know how to avoid Corrupting Crashes and can interrupt...

And the attempt after it (which I think our rogue decided to DC)

Lookin quickly at those logs since I am leaving soon, but how are you handling phase 2? Try and move Cho'gall into the corner of a room, and keep everyone stacked up. The tentacles that spawn will spawn closer to your group and allow quicker access to interrupts and AoE damage. The sooner they die, the sooner you can get back on boss.

I believe we got to phase 2 twice...maybe three times that night. The first time he wasn't positioned close enough, the second was good, however we just couldn't keep people alive or dps wasn't FFing or something. In all honesty I think we're just a bit undergeared.

The third time we hit P2 our rogue DCd which yeah...
