Full Dots or MS>MB spam

Full Dots or MS>MB spam

Postby Testament » October 5th, 2011, 10:55 am

Hello, I'm relatively new to spriest switching mains from a frost dk due to my current guild's comp needing one.

for reference

Currently I'm wondering what would end up being better for bringing down the transition adds on normal ragnaros, a full dot rotation or just MS>MB the crap out of it

Personally, I just use mind spikes and mind blast.

Semi-depends on your raid comp. VT on everything will net you MUCH more overall damage. However if your raid is lacking burst dps to kill the closest adds in time, MS/MB would be the most beneficial

I usually tab VT all the adds and than SW:P / DP -> MB/MF the add that needs it. Optionally if you have good death grips + knockbacks, the adds can become clustered enough to Mind Sear. It is also good practice to time a Shadowfiend.

Edit: I just realized that I may be talking about the wrong adds :-x I was talking about Sons of Flame. For Molten Elementals, we aoe them down.

For the sons - MS and MB for me too. Ussually two will get them down to slow and then MB crit on the next one will slow that one for me. If archangel is up or I have orbs one MS will slow the add, but then I am usually taking care of the far ones first.

For the ele's I just Mind Sear

MS/MB for me on 10 man, my raid's assignments are a little fuzzy despite some nudging to sort it out properly, so I end up switching target a lot to focus on whichever one is looking most likely to wipe the raid. 25m if you've got a DK gripping into a clump and then a knockback I'd guess VT on them all would be better use of your time.

Thanks for the advice, yea I just wasn't sure whether the MS/MB would do better, I'm much more used to smashing 2 with my DK pretty much right off the bat. This should really help next time I do some rag attempts.

Also, if you have several Sons in a clump (that aren't super close to the hammer) don't be afraid to use Mind Sear.
