The Shadow SIMBOT (3/3/12)

Postby Zurie » December 11th, 2011, 7:35 am

SIMBOT BETA - now open for testing!

Keep in mind that it is in the early stages of testing and it may or may not get to each person. It depends on if it runs into an issue I have not seen yet.

Since stat weights are based off of gear, they are not the same for everyone. Dealing with this issue every time I need to revise my list is just becoming problematic. I am currently working on a program to help people with reforging, gemming, and enchanting, as well as helping them with updating/replacing gear.

This program works with SimCraft to simulate DPS with different reforging/gemming/enchants/gear based on the character information provided. You will be able to submit your character for review, kind of like an automated Gear Optimizer or like http://www.askmrrobot.com.

This is specifically for Shadow Priests only! The program is aware of haste caps and will try to help you reforge/gem/enchant to reach ones you are close to. It also reforges excess haste if you are unable to reach the next cap, without going under your current cap.

As you could imagine, dealing with reforging/gemming/enchanting, all to provide the best possible DPS with your current gear, requires many calculations. There are many "moving parts" when you look at all the possibilities you have to move stats around. This makes it extremely tricky when trying to find a good balance between going for a haste cap or being under/over hit cap by too much.

All-in-all, I hope for this program to be helpful to all those people (like myself) looking to minmax their gear. :)

This program runs on my computer, using my CPU for processing. This eliminates the need for people to learn how to use SimCraft.

Check it out!

I hope to have something functional sometime this week, it depends on how much time I spend on it. :)

Can't wait to test this out. Right now I'm using ReforgeLite which works fairly well for reforging. Gems/enchants I can figure out myself.

I LOVE ReforgeLite. It shifts things around in such a way that just works for me.

I think I just broke the "Leet Barrier"!
My program is over 1337 lines of code so far =S

If you would like to help me test my submission form, go ahead and check it out!

It currently does nothing more than save your info to a file for now. I am still working on the part that does everything else for you. :P

Yes, there is a text box for your email. Since the simulations take about 5mins to do, you will get an email with a breakdown of what to do, along with the files (before and after) to show all the simulation data it used. Depending on submissions, your simulations may take even longer, as it can only sim 1 person at a time.

Submitted! Let's see how this puppy rolls lol.

Edit: Not sure if that thing works man. Submitted my info about half an hour ago, still no email, did it a second time in case and still nothing >>. Did it relatively soon after you posted it too, about an hour later? Doubt it's gotten that many hits yet for such a long queue time...

Edit2: Still nothing, been about 3 hours >>
