Heroic Ultraxion 10 man

I've heard a Resto Shaman/H Paladin combination is amazing on this fight but I can't see why.

I have the following healers to choose from:
Resto Shaman
Holy Paladin
Holy Priest
Disc Priest

I was thinking Disc Priest and Resto Shaman. D Priest takes Red and Blue, Resto Shaman takes Green. If extra damage is needed I will respec from SoS/ToT to AA/A. Our H Paladin has the best OS gear and we've had him play Ret very well on H Yor'sahj.

Is there some amazing reason that H Paladin should heal this, aside from the obvious HR spam with Blue? Alternatively, our Resto Shaman could go Enhance or I could play Shadow.

Has healing this as a Priest with either of the above healers worked for any on your guilds?

Actually, upon reviewing some additional information I have decided to heal this as Disc Priest/Resto Shaman.

Red - D Priest
Green - R Shaman
Blue - R Shaman

STL will be saved for the time loop, as will Divine Hymn.

I don't know if I have to Smite at the start yet. I think my raid dps is higher than some logs I've looked at, so I'm having my fellow raiders take a look at that. I don't do WoW math xD

There is really no reason not to smite, as the healing in the first part of the fight is pretty negligible. The extra dps from smiting will help you kill it faster regardless of if you have no issues beating enrage, which in turn makes the fight easier to heal.

I was curious actually. Should I pop AA for a slight healing increase or should I keep my Evangelism stacks for higher damage?

My opinion is to keep the evangelism stacks up, but I think Derevka could answer that with more authority than I as disc is my offspec.

I toyed around with it. I think it is better to keep the stacks up as well for more damage since... well... that is my purpose until the first announce of "Ultraxion becomes more unstable."

I watched some kill video where the Priest used AA on CD at the start which I thought was interesting.

Noooooo! Holy paladin is amazing because with blue buff they can put holy radiance on more than one target, and it's also so awesome with green buff since the hps there is just crazy as a holy pala, you're not doing yourself any favours not taking him.

Resto shaman is awesome because you're stacked the whole time and damage is predictable.

I just sit this every week since I've got the items I need from it now. Healing should be a non-issue with resto-holy pala, the only reason you should be wiping is to people being bad at soaking. If you don't have a shadow priest, play it because gaining dispersion > dps loss.

Cool story: 3% wipes on H Ultraxion with myself healing as Disc and our Resto Shaman healing.

Now with an even more awesome Holy Paladin who is even more awesome at Ret than our last one, I smell a kill coming soon.

Thing is I just can't pull the dps numbers to compete so why bother? It can be successfully healed (and has been) with D Priest/R Shaman.
