Nice, such exellent information, so quickly! :D

I was leaning towards tailoring as well, with Alch being my second choice. But since the trinket will most likely not be all that fantastic next tier, tailoring seems to be the obvious choice. tyvm

Is it safe to assume that these PP values will remain similar, barring any major patch changes, throughout the xpac? Or should i expect some descaling with greater gear?

This is my first post on this site as I just came across this today. Like the layout by the way.

Twintop wrote:Some quick napkin-math:

Engineering: Synapse Springs = (480 int * 12 sec) / 60 sec ICD - 65mastery enchant = 96 int - 65 master = 96 PP - 28.626 PP = 67.374 PP

This is incorect in several ways. If that was the case you would see no good shadowpriests with that profession.

I neglected to read the date you posted that information, but either way synapse springs now only lasts for 10 seconds, down from 12 since the patch. The PP value isn't calculated by subtracting 65 mastery either, since engineering enchants stack with the regular enchants, so you can put both on at the same time. :)

So the math is simply 480 int / 6 = 80 PP which is the same as most other professions. Before 4.0.6 this was a BIS profession hands down.

I'm using Jewelcrafting and inscription, inscription is nice for slacking on rep(hey if you can be awesome and lazy at the same time that makes you super-awesome). I had already concluded myself that tailoring is probably the most profitable in a perfect environment with the other professions pretty much on par with one another.

That said I wouldn't take tailoring because I dislike procs although even when having to move etc it could still potentially be better then other professions.

Don't forget, alchemy doubles the duration of your flasks and if you go flask spec you can proc more when you make them. (Unless things have changed)

Hi all,

I know this thread hasn't been posted in for a while, but my question is still relevant :P I am dropping herbalism and wondering what I would be best to pick up. Been doing some research and chatting to a few fellow spriests, obviously its going to be up to the individual. I am thinking maybe JC, I do like the static increase in int with the 3 gems. Also its probably going to be cheaper to level than most of the others :P I know tailoring shines above the rest, but cloth costs an arm and a leg on my server, and personally I prefer the static increase in int over the chance of a proc. Or is it worth the risk?

Any opinions would be appreciated :)

Alternatively I could drop my Alchemy as well and have both, but is Alchemy really that bad? I like have an increased duration on flasks, but then again its not a gain in anything really.

The ICD of Lightweave Embroidery is 60s, not 45, and it takes a few seconds to activate it after the ICD (4-8 seconds during my guild's last staghelm fight, 5.6 seconds according to my last simcraft simulation). If you gain the buff every 66 seconds, the benefit is

{(580 int * 15sec) / (60 sec ICD + 6 sec activation time)} - 50int {Greater Int Enchant} = 131.82 - 50 int = 81.82 PP

which makes it on par with the other professions.

This would be in contrast with everything I've ever read (about Lightweave), but I can't say that I've noticed any particular proof with mine own two eyes. I'll have to test this tonight to be certain.
